Really enjoyable

Well if you really improvised the melody you really have good improvisation skills - I loved the melody especially in the beginning.

The whole track was really enjoyable and kind of relaxing. I see a tendence on the AP's classical section that a lot of artists are starting to submit a lot of music like this: a solo piano piece. And they getting better and better.

Like yours. I don't really have any negative critics with this track. Nice and relaxing piece with good chrod progression - congratulation!

Sevanimation responds:

Ha thanks for the positive critique!
Just so you know, "Arlulu" is the word for "water" in an aboriginal language, somewhere in the Australian outback (I learned that in school XD)

The intention of the song was for it to sound like water going down a gentle stream, and suddenly it gets thrown into a lake/ocean near the end as I repeat the original idea, only with more emphasis and elaboration.

Dramatic but the volume level...

... well it was waaaay too loud. In my opinion the song could be much better and enjoyable if the volume level of the piano wouldn't be soo loud. I understand what you tried to achieve - showing dramatic and a kind of epic emoitions.

But because of the loudness the sound made a distortion and made it less enjoyable.

To say something positive: I loved the melody - it's really good and absolutly fits for the title and the song description. The structure was also good: no boring, repetitive parts there was always something changing.

But that volume level needs to be fixed. It could be a 9 or even a 10 score for it. But keep it up - this stuff and you have potential in it.

Ben-the-Jew responds:

First of all, thank you for your comments on the actual music. But yeah, the volume, it happened when I was downconverting and I still couldn't figure out how to save the sound quality. Until I get a real mic the only thing I can suggest is turn your volue down :/

Heroic!

Hy there!

I must say this song is great - really like a main theme: starting a story/game giving the dominant mood of the forcoming events. So as a main theme this audio serves it's functions really well.

Loved the choir - gendle, soft giving the whole song a kind of heroic feel. (Altough the starting hit didn't showed this way)

The melody is nicly flowing with the string, choirs, brass (?) - maybe you could make the ending a bit more dinamic: faster moving choir and strings with some brass and percussion to reveal somthing about the "Pursuit" - but nonenthless it's a great piece.

PS: if you got time pls check out my tracks. Thnx in advance!

DavidOrr responds:

This piece actually sums up -PURSUIT- pretty well. Check it out in a few days and you'll see what I mean :).

I'm glad you enjoyed the piece, thanks for the review! I'll take a look at your stuff in a few minutes :)

OMG... I've lost my words...

Wow dude...
You've imperessed me so much... that I feel I'm a nobody in making music and I have to leave the AP...

But I wont...:) This is awesome... Especially the choir part... It was... like a real choir from a filmscore. Like I'd hear a rejected Gladiator score... Simply beautifull. And then the strings come in. No words are in my head now to express the cataclism of that...

The only one tiny little thing that I'd suggest that dont interrupt the string part so hardly with the drums - let the volume down and then... But I know filmscores are know from sudden changes. I use them also .)

So... Absolutely fantastic job. What program did you used for it? EWQLSO? If yes I'll have to get that... I wanna things like that...

You made me yelous... in a good way >:)

Fantastic job again... Congratulations!

P.S.: I have a recent audio sub. "For King and Country". If you got time pls drop a review. I tried something like here... but I see with less effort.

Bosa responds:

Yet again, a fault at the end with the Vins. Yet, your words are that of a follower. Welcome to Bosa's music.

Another great one!

Hi there Maestro!
I tought I was a long time on your site so I decided to look around - and I've seen this track in front...
And I listened to it:)
Great job! Almost like a battle-music. I loved the dinamic strings and the high violin. And I see you still in love with bells - it's not a problem: they are fitting greatly in the track.
There are two things I've missed: some more aggressive drums or hits. I think it would give a more epic feel for it. (Or maybe I'm to maniac again with drums and hits.)
Second: on the climax of the track I was missing some brass and trombons. Some brass-hits or riseing brass-lines.
But these are only my ideas - the track is still a great piece. I liked the repeating and continously building structure. It had some excited feeling - like you mentioned:
A warlord is in his tower watching his man preparing his stronghold for the upcoming battle...
And the enemy is nearing...
So summing up: great work I enjoyed greatly. Keep them coming!

MaestroRage responds:

Ah, yes, my love for those damn bells are always with me. It seems every song I make the first question I ask myself is "IS THERE ROOM FOR A BELL!?". If the answer is yes, then in it goes!

DavidOrr mentioned before you that there should be more aggressive drums. I suppose with now two quite talented artists recommending the same thing, I should REALLY go and try to make this idea work.

For the brass hits, I felt they weren't loud enough either, but once again, my lacking skill with equalizing makes this difficult. With time of course, I will learn proper equalizing, and then I could really throw in some crazy things in there!

Thank you for sharing your image, and writing the review ^^. I'm glad you dropped by.

You need better samples

First of all: great track! I loved the structure how the instruments were going with each other. The track had its dinamic parts, slower parts so the structure is ok!
But the one thing that was annoying me: the qualitiy of your samples (if you was working with samples). If you have had better samples It would be now a superb track. (Now it's only a good track ;))
So try to find better samples and than there won't be any compliments by me.
Great job. Keep doin'it!

DrZonka responds:

ummm....don't know what samples are but this is all music made by me using audacity, and electric keyboard and an audio input proxy cable. If samples mean pre-made, then there's no way in hell I would put music on here if it weren't my own, let alone send it to a college...DrZ

Wonderfull!

Well, well - the Maistro is back!:)
Good to see you around again. I checked the two tracks you uploaded yet and I must say: you've developed quite a lot - compering to the older tracks.
The quality the melody and the strucure of the songs are far-far better than before.
Personally I think this song is better than "The Tanks Thunder" - much smoother melody and more harmoicall but of course the other one has it's moments as well.
So great job, keep pushin'it!
And if you got time, pls check my songs as well. I have some new things and I could use some constructive criticism.

MaestroRage responds:

Yes indeedly madboss, I wanted to share more stories, and more images with everybody here. I wanted to once again grace these walls, hopefully for longer this time.

Everybody has their preferences, my goal this time is to produce at least one track that everybody will like and enjoy. Any piece I submit that didn't invoke any story or image, a complete failure on my behalf.

Thanks for your support and review madboss, for sure I will check out your tunes immediately.

Hey, I'm composing music - mostly cinematic soundtrack type of things (symphonic or hybrid sounds) but I'm also composing trance / EDM tracks. Feel free to save a copy and use any tracks on this page. Enjoy the music!
