"Great concept and use of strings!"
Hy popraz!
I understand your aim how you wanted to use the strings in the beginning building up the tension and the dark, creepy atmosphere. I think you've succseded with it: it really creates an uneasy feeling and imagineing some scenes that would fit it really brings a dark tone.
The ending was nice too. For my taste the electric-synth like effect in the background was not really fitting to the overal string heavy concept but thats my personal tast. The beat was interesting - a good choice definitely.
If I could share an idea with you: next time if you are up to create songs like this, try to play with the pitch of the strings. You really can achieve an insane, mad, fearfull effect with it. I've tried it and it was really uneasy to listen to since it sounded crazy as hell but that was the point.
So good track 9/10

this time not faved but still good song!
Keep up your great and experimenting work!
Author's Response:
Thank you very much for the review and the advice. I never expected anyone to fave this, I was especially interested to see if I captured the right mood. I'll keep experimenting until I get to the complete madness of it. Again, thank you for the advice.

Hy Dan!
After the first starting notes I felt the fantastic atmosphere of the song. And the huge amount of energy you've put inside of this track. Somehow it reminded me one of your earlier work - Savanna Speedrun if I remember correctly. But this is more complex more intense and has much more energy.
It definitely has a Disney-like sound but it's easy to recognise your own ideas and style and I think it's a great thing when I can tell to myself even my eyes are closed and listening to the track that : yes, this is danman! I think you have a really recognisable soundscape.
So wonderfull song again. Keep up your great work! And belive in yourself even when you feel no one else do - you can be sure that you're wrong!

Thanks buddy, This piece was a lot of work and I'm glad you acknowledge it! Those old pieces were pretty experimental but I guess they helped me to form that certain kind of style. It's pretty hard to describe whatsoever.
Thank you for the great review!

Hey Dan!
I'm really happy to hear some new stuff from you! I must say you're style become even better than the previous songs. Really dinamic, melodic - absolutely cinematic experience!
I loved the moving string motif under the action parts - especially during the city chase. The brass were also great addiction. Maybe one thing I'd mention: the rythm of the drums were a bit too constant but I realised it only before the trailer where the strings went on the same rythm with the drums. But it didn't faded the greatness of this song.
So congrats and 5/5, 10/10 faved for this song!
Keep up your great work!

Author's Response:
Thanks a lot man! Haha yes, these drums need a bit more variety. I guess I was just too lazy to write a few more variations. Maybe some quiet synthie elements during the "calm" passages instead of using Stormdrum's earthquake ensemble right through the whole part. I'm glad you liked it regardless of that, thanks for another great review!

Hy there!
It was really long ago since I reviewed any of your track - but this track gives teh perfect opportunity for it!
I must say that it's easy to feel that you've workd a lot on it! The variety of the instrumentation, the quality of the instrumentation and the whole sondscape is wonderfull.
The best thing for me was the plucked instruments (or pizzicato strings?) at the beginning - it reminded me the mood of the latest Batman movie. Don't misunderstand me not the score that it reminded me: the mood of the movie came back with this song. So great work, you've really succseded creating a dark atmosphere where an abandoned and lonely soul is fighting for against the evil inside him.
You have some amazing talent to create melodies and soundscapes that are not too movind and dinamic, not much goes on, not a full orchestra is pounding but yet still grabs your attention and drives the imagination.
The flute based part was really great and the ideas with the percussive elements are also shows that you have some creative ideas. And the synth elements and pads were also really fitting.
My only complaints with the track: some parts were too long for me and I've lost the focus from the track - so the song could be a fantastic background music - and the ending was a bit too abrupt and ruined the great composition a bit.
Otherwise I loved the track and whit all these small negative things I think it's a great song.

Great song popraz just keep up this fantastic work!

Thank you very much for the review. I'm happy you liked it. I agree about the ending being too abrupt. At one point I considered extending it a bit, but I felt it was too long.

I have simpli no grip on any negative side of the track - since I can't find any.
The song is fantastic, superb... there's no question about it. My only question is: how are you capable to create such great, intense and complex music whitin this short time? You have a ground-braking classical track almost every week! Even if you're working in a team it's a huge job to manage it...
Anyhow congratulations for you: you produce music that is wonderfull! Keep up your great work!

"All of your submissions so far wonderfull!"
Well you wrote many times in your responses that you play in this orchestra - well tell to everyone in it and to all choir-singers that they are god damn talented and they can create a fantastic soundscape. (Of course this goes for you too.)
But tell me: these are pieces that are already composed, or there are someone from the class who composes these songs? If yes tell him that I take off my hat for him/her.
Keep submitting these songs. I love them! These songs give the best of NG's classical songs.

Author's Response:
Thank you for the very nice compliments to the orchestra and especially the choir! Oh, and to me as well. :) And to answer your question, only some of the songs I post are original. My director sometimes composes songs of her own along with some of the first chair players (the songs they compose are amazing by the way) but the majority of the songs that we play are directly from sheet music composed by various artists. I guess the reason we do that is because it usually takes an awfully long time to come up with an original piece that's actually good. I would put up the names of the other composers though to give them credit but I often can't remember and I usually end up just making up a completely unoriginal name... :( But if this bothers you, or anyone else for that matter, please contact me and I'll try to find the names of the composers as soon as I can. Thanks again for the nice review!

"Really unique and charecteristic sound"
Hy there!
I must say to you: I could tell you from 100 of songs which one is yours - your style and compositions are so unique like rarely others.
The stings are like almost falling apart (like they are not playing the same note constantly just one-one note) but still the whole tings takes shape in one big piece. And the melodies are also great
I think you are a greate character-musician I mean you have great talent to compose music for characters.
I loved this one too - especially the beginning with that electronic gitar (?). Great job as always!

Wow! I've listened to "Sacrifice" as well and I can tell you for sure: you should make more classical tracks. You have great skils for it. This song shows it again.
I loved the quality of your instruments - really clear and sounded realistic (for the classical instruments). And the mood you've created are really like the death of a hero. This mood is really like a sacrifice like one.
Again - wonderfull job.

... I mean: I imagined the images - soldiers give up all of their humanity in order to survive and to be alive...
With this music it was a thrilling experience and I had a shiver. Even though you havent used the flute you used to in the other tracks. I think the flute would fit here wonderfully.
But without it this song was great. The percussion sets were greatz again - you are really good seting up your percs.
So I loved this song too:

Hy there!
My first impressions about the song (as I mentioned in the short summary: emotional and really beutyfull. It had a slight oriental feel with the percussive set. The strings toward the end was also great and I loved the melody it has. Especially when everything went on with each other - it was one of an uplifting part.
Whether the soing is Oscar-worhty or not I wouldn't decide it. And also I havent find the "There Will Be Blood" moment... maybe at 1:20 with the dizzy strings?
Some mentionable expressions:
The bulid up part was a bit long for my taste. It was lacking from melody I think. Some flutes playing the main theme's short parts would give more excitement and would keep myself on the edge of my seat what will next come?
And for me the atmosphere of the song wasn't like a sacrifice. The song had a rather happy mood like a resolution of a conflict and everything is O.K. now. But this is also a personal comment.
Otherwise I could feel that you've worked a lot on this song - the flutes the female vocice (it was brilliantly made) and the percussive set... all sounded really nice and realistic.
All in all: great job 9/10, 5/5 and faved.
Keep up the great work!
